Girl's trip to Louisiana

This past weekend my sister and I took Isabelle and Siena for a trip to Baton Rouge to visit MaMere and Paw Paw.  We all had a great time.  The air was already heavy and humid and reminded us of the long summers we used to spend back home.  Paw Paw rented a Jumpy Castle to keep the girls entertained and entertaining it was.  The fun didn't stop with Isabelle and Siena.  Mama, Nanan, MaMere, Paw Paw and even Aunt June had some jumps before the end of the weekend.

On Saturday afternoon a few friends joined us for a big Easter Egg Hunt.  It was Siena's first Easter Egg hunt but it didn't take much time for her to get the gist of it.

Cousin Isabelle showed her the ropes and then post hunt gave her a lesson on how to protect your eggs.

The girls gave Paw Paw a good workout the whole time they were there.  If it wasn't jumping like crazy in the jumpy house they had him playing baseball, soccer or mini golf.  The other big activity was chasing 2 little jaybirds around the house to get in the bath tub.
We also found plenty of time to eat.  That is a favorite past time in Louisiana and Isabelle and Siena fit right in.  Both Siena and Isabelle had a some culinary firsts while we were visiting.  They both give a big thumbs up to beignets and chocolate milk...what's not to like right?

Isabelle surprised us all and ate boiled crawfish.  Siena was not as sold...maybe next year!

We desperately tried to find SnowBalls but it rained on "Papa's Parade" 2 nights in a row.  We will have to wait and get a Snow Ball next year.
We have so many more Louisiana specialties to introduce to Isabelle and Siena.  Trips to visit Mamere and PawPaw are filled with fun and laughter!
